I'm just having some personal problems currently. And to add that the worrying of not getting FS Fansode out on time, let alone get enough Voice Actors, and then the script just wouldn't come out right. But don't worry, my 2 fans, for a new story is being written. It was going to start out as a silly little script for a strip, but now it's going to be much more then that.

It shall be called, "Ripoffs Galore, a Murder, THERE'S MORE?!" (thanks to Alex for the title). But don't worry, it won't be "OGFM, Bonus Stage rip-off!". I'll throw in references, but not to the point where it gets in the way of the plot.

I'll try my best to get at least 15 seconds of animation a day on FS Fansode, all while trying to get one panel done a day on the story. It won't be hand drawn, but instead, I'll use the line tool so the art is cleaner. Add shading and highlighting, and that could all take awhile.

As for the two pages of the olde story? Well, I'm going to make a new section on the site and add it there.. It'll probably be something like "The Junkyard" or something. The series started out as a request from a Strong Bad e-mail from a girl who wanted Strong Bad to make a comic for her friends. The series became more popular with each episode, and then soon got its own page on the homestar runner site.

The "Teen Girl Squad" consists of four girls: "Cheerleader", the most popular one who's out to look "So GOOD!" and get the boys, "So-and-So", whose full of smarts and has an imaginary boyfriend named Brett Bretterson, "What's Her Face", the outcast and the one that usually gets left out of the girls' fun, and "The Ugly One", the most random and eccentric one of the whole group.

The art style is very simplistic to represent doodles. The notebook paper backgrounds, uneven panels, and dialoge balloons makes it look like a comic you'd find a 5th grader drawing in math class. Even with the simple style, each character has their own characteristics. For example, you can simply tell apart between The Ugly One and What's Her Face.

The animation is limited, since it's supposed to represent a comic. People who have never heard of Teen Girl Squad would at first pass this series up because of limited animation, but after watching at least two episodes, they'd most likely become fans of this series.

Most of the humor in this series relies on sight gags and random phrases. It seems everytime you watch an episode, something in the background happens, like clouds eating birds, for example. Random phrases are mainly something said when one of the girls die, like "MSG'D!". This bothers me a bit when things pop out of nowhere and kill them, but every episode ends in a hilarious result.

The music mainly consists of a music loop in the background in each episode. Surprisingly, the music loop never becomes annoying to me, and I even catch myself humming it. The only other music was in Episode 8.

Now, here's where I have to tack down some points: Voice Acting. Too many of the characters sound the same. I could hardly tell the difference between Cheerleader and So-and-So if I was to only litsen to their voice and have to guess which one it was. That aside, the sound quality is very good. There's no background noise, static, or poping noises.

Overall, I enjoy this series alot. I would highly recommend newcomers to Homestar Runner to watch them. This cartoon gets a A- from me, and would be perfect if not for the voices.

THIS REVIEW IS OVER!

PROGUHRUS UPDATE

ES Page 3: 0%
500th Kiriban for Midnightfury: 0% (Still planning on what to draw.)
Gift Art for friend person: 0% (It's not really important right now.)
Kagome Drawing: 20% (Have sketched, sketching background.)
<STRIKE>ES Strip #6: 100%</STRIKE> (Cleeck.)
<STRIKE>Breeze Line Art: 100%</STRIKE> (Cleeck.)
<STRIKE>Salena Umaco Fanart: 100%</STRIKE> (Cleeck.)
Ernie Seekers Kitchen Background: 0% (Redrawing)
<STRIKE>Ernie Seekers Living Room Background: 100%</STRIKE> (Cleeck.)
Ernie Seekers Bedrooms: 0%
Ernie Seekers Jungle Background (For when they go to Africa in Story 2.): 0%
Ernie Seekers Video Shop Background: 0%
Ernie Seekers Bus Stop: 0%
Ernie Seekers Story #2 Script: 10%

I'm going to be working alot on the backgrounds today, hopefully at least getting two done. Oh man, I was the first one to leave a comment. This comic is just...wow. I can't say anything, really. Saying that in a good way. Amazing details, and the whole climax is wrapped up now. Well, besides that to be continued part. I'm wondering stuff:
WHUT WILL HAPPEN TO AMY'S BROTHER?
IS HE ALIVE?
WILL EVIL MICROSOFT GET AWAY WITH IT?
SO EXCITED!!!11

I also liked the fact that it had a tiny bit of romance in there. Not giant make-out scenes, but just enough to show that Brooks (the character) cared for Amy. I like it when comics aren't all goofy all the time, and just add a pinch of Romance or Drama into the recipe of a comic.

Toonami gives this a 10 out of 10. (Ya rly!!1 I liked it that much. :D)

Matt Wilson left us a picture without telling us what in the world it is, or even what series it is for. I wanted to see killing turtle action, but instead the comic cuts away to them dead. UUUURRRRGGGH. Toonami gives it a 5 out of 10.

Inside the Box cheered me up on Pirates's mistake. Blood gore violence. GLEEEE. Toonami gives this bad baby an 8 out of 10 because of the rather akward stabbing panel.

Onion #4 was...random. I was goggle girl, but I had no emotion. I wish he'd give me the script so I can see where I need emotion and not. So I may ask him later on if I can redo those. Nash and Z were drawn really well in this one, but some of the artwork just leaves me blah. The kid obsessed with crap was drawn good. Why can't he put that kind of effort in the goggle girl or the other characters? They looked like they were just slapped together. Pear appears out of nowhere and says she likes cheeseballs. If my parents think I don't make sense, I should show them this. Toonami gives it a 7 out of 10.

Floppy Disk #16 show that if it's late at night, you shouldn't animate until the next day. I think this would've been better if Nate just waited until the next day. I was the third to see it, but only because I had sleeping problems that night. I'm still curious about the attic, but most of it rings a bell of a previous episode. "Hey Nate, did you know we have an attic?" "Look, Nate, I found a secret door in the wall over there?" Familiar, no? I appreciate his work, but I'm sorry, the artwork was just sloppier than his other episodes. More disjointed frame-by-frame fighting and another villian who has a grudge against the others for no apparent reason. This seemed to be the only episode I'm unhappy with. Toonami gives is a 5 out of 10. Remember kids, it's better to get your rest so you work better than to stay up all night.

Salena Umaco, Progress Update UPDATE!

I'm now going to be in the Salena Umaco coronicles as Midori Kanukite! I updated it, minus Idiot's progress bar, heh.

ES Page 3: 0% (Lazy!!1)
500th Kiriban for Midnightfury: 0% (Still planning on what to draw.)
Gift Art for friend person: 0% (It's not really important right now.)
Kagome Drawing: 15% (Have sketched, need to ink, color, and add background.)
ES Strip #6: 5% (Have the background, and idea pat down.)
Breeze Action Line Test: 15% (Have Sketched.)
<STRIKE>Salena Umaco Fanart: 100%</STRIKE>

I'll get back to Ernie Seekers as soon as I finish Action Line Test, Kagome, and 500th Kiriban. Well, I'll link them later I guess.

Zeno updated today. Woah, seriously? FINALLY? Yep, it did. The comic mainly relied on visual humor and saying wierd word humor. But that doesn't matter since I like that kind of humor. Toonami gives it an 8 out of 10. No picture since PMS went down.

BrooksTV Daily Strip about the 6/6/06 drama llamas was funny as well. You don't have to be a Bible belt person to get what's going on. And is that shading I see in the last panel with the goat? Maybe he'll start fooling around with shading now. Once again, nice bright colors, especially in the last one to set the mood of EVILNESS. Toonami gives it an 9 out of 10. They still look a bit boxy-like, but I'll excuse him on this one since Brooks had much stuff to do. No link since PMS is down, but you can just click on the comic above to read it. He sent it to me on Skype.

The Real Rubyrulez Episode #12 was by far the best episode since Fight By Night. Much of the animation bothers me a bit since it's moving tweens, but still, great writing and voice acting. I'm a bit bothered also how the character don't really show emotion. Like when Georgia said "I bet that's the news!" she should've had a smiling mouth loop and maybe some evil biotch smirk on her. Toonami gives it an 8 out of 10. PMS is down, so Mr.Ruby put it up on Putfile. Click the Text in bold at the beginning of this paragraph to watch it.

Fett Fetterson Believe Cartoon was surprisingly well animated, and I seem to have enjoyed it more then FFA Episode 1 Part 1. It had very smooth animation, and the mouth loop is still one of the most unique I've seem on PMS yet. I liked how the characters had blinking animations, too. Great voice acting on their part, yes. Toonami gives it a 9 out of 10. No link again. SORRY.

Jomation Studios has joined onto Porple Montage Studios. The comics seem like one of those "Daily Quick Laugh Things" in my opinion. It's mainly just some random animal with a saying next to it. At least it's unique, I guess. The layout is very nice, and now when I hear "Jomation", I think of some Hawaiian Island. I would really like to make something like that in Flash one day. Toonami gives it the overall score of 9 out of 10 so far. No link.

Billy Cobsy's Gangsta Rap is yet another YTMND-inspired cartoon. Let me just say it was okay, but I would rather not look at a Symboled Cobsy doing the same movements over again. Maybe if he were to add him break dancing or something, I would have enjoyed this more. Catchy song nonetheless. Toonami gives it a 7 out of 10. No link.

Tyler's "Mario Goes to Work" Picture was not funny until you read the description. Some of it had me cracking up, but diaper school? What's that? Link in Bolded text.

Here's my thought for Nintendo in 2040:

Nin Guy #1: Guys, I just got back an overall review from IGN. Super Mario Sunshine 12 didn't do as good as the last sequel.
Nin Guy #2: Dammit! What do these people want!?
Nin Guy #3: {Laughs at the computer in the corner}
Nin Guy #2: Nin Guy #3, stop goofing around, the life of MARIO is in our hands!
Nin Guy #3: Look at this funny picture I found of Mario. Read the description for it too.
Nin Guy #1: That's....GENIUS! Quick, call the president! We got to give this kid a big crapload of money for this idea. This is PURE GOLD!

Oh yeah, Toonami gives the picture a 7 out of 10. The thought of making that a game: 3 out of 10.

New Ernie Seekers Comic Strip

Go here: http://ernieseekers.porplemontage.com/strips/strip5.html

I'll get some reviews for other stuff up later.

Updates on Stuff!

Reviews on Other Stuff, Go!

Mindnightfury's new picture of Kambian was really drawn well. YOU CAN DIE BY SHOVING COW DOWN YOUR THROAT!! OMGF!" I loved this animation on this one, and voice acting for GEOWeasel is getting better. They already have a subdomain with PorpleMontage, so there's no point in even bothering Mr.Porple if you're just going to be there for a month and then completly abandon your site. Apparently, NO ONE can read one of the rules for joing.

Your Porplemontage Studios site must be the primary place on the Internet for your series. Any other instances of your series on the Internet should be secondary, such as putting your cartoons on a Flash portal. For example, you cannot just copy your site from where it currently is and have both sites up. There's no point in us hosting your series if you do that, you're just stealing publicity. Your Porplemontage Studios site should be the main location for your series.

Yes, Mr.Kitty, I'm looking AT YOU!!1

It just makes me angry. Steve offered to host your site for free, and then you just go, "Well, I got a domain now. See ya!" and abandon him. Once you join the PMS family, you should stay with it. Why are people so ashamed to be a part of something all of a sudden. Putting the PMS logo on every page of your site is such a bother isn't it? Oh, the ads! You can't live with those. Those help pay them, and as much as I hate them, I'm willing to put them on my site. Steve gave you that site, so is it THAT much of a trouble to give a little thanks back?

Here's a screenshot I took with different colored checkmarks to show what I mean. And those green ones are growing. If you were to take away the ones that either had a domain name or hardly updated, this is what you'd be left with:

Doughboy Movies
Fett Fetterson Adventures
Random Toons
The Real Rubyrulez
BrooksTV
Inside the Box
Kitty Comic
Knock on Wood
The Ernie Seekers

So that's 4 webtoons and 5 webcomics. Do I seem to be the only one who's annoyed with this?

Nothing to Really Review Today..

Kitty Comic is starting to get a bit better in humor. I stayed up untill 1 o' clock in the morning because I really wanted to get everything down. Here's what I got so far:

"The plot is Cheryl first meets Roy. The comic goes a few weeks forward to show them dating. Cheryl starts to not see her friends less and less until Shelby has it. Her anger gets in the way of her hippie-ness and she beats the crap out of Roy.
I becomes worse. Cheryl starts skipping school, failing classes, and doing who knows what. The the worst happens. She secretly goes off and marries him. Shelby must get rid of him, so she and Breeze head off to the heart of Africa, according to her plan. Breeze kills a giraffe.

Note to Self:
Brittany, do NOT make this one an angsty drama llama story. Add emotion, yes, but not alot of crap. This was a doodle I did on to get a basic idea of what I'm wanting.

The Ernie Seekers comic strips will be held off, but also for a good reason. Because of what happened to me today, I've gotten a big boost of inspiration in the wierdest way ever to start on Story #2. And the perfect idea for it, too. Scripts and little stuff soon.

The new Brooks TV pun on recent forum events had me Loller-burgerkinging. That picture Tyler drew still cracks me up.

As for Pirates, I don't know what to make of it. It highly reminds me of Inside the Box. I'll have to see some more strips before I decide on this one if I like it or not.

Progress of other Cartoons! :D

Inside the Box's new story arc seems interesting, and now it's more than just a guy in a box. DA Note her art gallery for it.

Midnightfury has been one of my best friends for over a year now, so I figured why not write up a nice review of her art? Well, here we go!

Midnightfury is what I consider a very popular anthro artist (Seeing as how she has over 30,000 page views on her DA Account. I struggled just to get 2,000 on my MarzipanHomestar one, gah!), but that’s not all she draws. She also has great My Little Pony artwork, and is very skillful in both traditional and digital mediums. Not only that, but she’s an excellent writer.

All this and no “professional” art training classes at all. Yes, she’s progressed from crayon drawings to lovely colored pencils and Open Canvas pictures. The thing I like best of her characters is the anatomy. I don’t care if she says she messes up. This girl gets it right everytime.

I enjoy her fantasy writings, too. I recommend you reading her short story Dark Delusions (Unless you’re really young or can’t take adult situations well; Also, her site with it is dead, so I can’t give you a link. :( ). It is based in the world of Furcadia (www.furcadia.com), a world where furres live happily, well most of them do. An evil Lord threatens to take over the land, and Mephis is the only one who can stop it. I won’t give out any other than that, but the story has many unique characters, and I would send her a DA note and ask her to give it to you. Once again, it’s not recommended for small children or people with sensitive stomachs.

My most favorite character of all of hers, besides her fursona, is Macy. I’m not really sure why I do, but I like her the most because of her innocence child-like look to her. No that doesn’t make me a child molester. >:( As of writing this, I don’t know much of Macy.

Her commission prices are fairly cheap compared to someone like Ulario. Her commission info is in a link of her DA journal. If I had the money on me, I would defiantly buy one right away.

I also like her personality. She’s sweet and very kind, now matter what The Horde says of her. (“The Horde” is a nickname which MF gave a bunch of trolls.) She even had the kindness to draw something for me for free (which was originally going to be a commission) and sent it to me, along with a letter of thanks since I sent her a mattress. Her family was effected by Katrina, but I don’t want to go off topic here.

Overall, I highly recommend checking her gallery out. It’s really worth a view!

Comic Review: Kitty Comic

I have to be honest with you guys. I don’t really like Kitty Comic. It’s just blah. I just don’t like the art style or how the panels are drawn. LINE TOOL IS THE REASON STRAIT PANELS EXSIST! Basically it’s just these stick figure cats with giant heads that do stuff. You can only tell the difference by the color of their heads. The main character is Kitty, the white one, and his ‘friend’ is uhh…I forgot his name. The gray one. And the pink one is Amy. There’s also stick guy, the stick figure that has been USED OVER AND OVER FROM TIME AND TIME AGAIN! Sorry. Kitty is just the main character, the dude. He’s just there just because. Gray kitty is there to be annoyed and curse.

What really annoys me about this series is most of the comics don’t even make sense. I mean, my stepmom thinks my comics don’t make sense, she should read some of these. Look:

See what I mean? Everything about this series is bothering me. The ‘art’ style is just stick figures with big heads. The backgrounds are bad, and it’s immature. Not in immature as for little kids, but immature as in potty mouths. If he wants my fandom, he needs to work on his comic more and curse less. There’s no need to say the F word 5 times in a row. In a nice way, it needs improvement.

And now, a FAN COMIC!:

Cartoon Review: The School Show Starring School/Rant of Cartoons These Days

Matt Wilson, even though some claim he’s a jerk (I never even talked to him, so I don’t know.), is completely right. Every show now is being set in school. Before I knew of TSSSS, I was watching Disney Channel, and then they were all like, “OFGM, NEW SHOWZ!!1 It’s called The Emperor’s New School!” I snapped. Not only was it a bastardized so called “cartoon” but it just took my favorite Disney Movie ever and butt raped it.

Are cartoonists so unoriginal these days that they have to slap some stupid characters in school? I didn’t even bother to watch My Gym Partner’s A Monkey, because I knew it already sucked. I refuse to watch any of the newer episodes of Ed, Edd, & Eddy because it’s now set in school. I’m really sure children want to go home after a rough day of learning, homework, and mean teachers, and turn on their TV’s to watch the same exact thing happen to a cartoon. How can this be interesting? How can this appeal to kids? How can it even appeal to ANYBODY? Oh yeah, those 500-pound fan boys who dream of hitting a Power Puff Girl every night, my bad.

Not only this, but now they must cancel the GOOD shows? What, Dexter’s Lab isn’t good anymore since the majority of the plots don’t take place in school? Johnny Bravo’s too sexist? Explain this to me Cartoon Network. Before you know it, it’ll be called Cartoon Schoolwork, where we’ll show crappy reruns of cartoons with stupid children in schools! HOW FUN! A constant reminder of YOUR horrible life!

This leads me into my review. If you survived those three paragraphs, congratulations! When I first heard of Bonus Stage’s canceling, I thought I couldn’t live anymore. Seriously. Call me a nerd or a person who needs to get out more, but it just seemed only yesterday that I first discovered Bonus Stage, and then it was ripped away from me. I wondered what Matt Wilson was up to, if anything else, next. I was surfing around the Bonus Stage Wiki, and then came upon Matt’s Newer Couch Slave site. I then was happy. It may have been the end of Bonus Stage, but not the end of Matt Wilson! I read all the descriptions for upcoming series, and The School Show Starring School was the one that caught me the most. I was able to say (well, more like think), “F*ck Bonus Stage! The School Show Starring School!” Bonus Stage was getting more repetitive for my tastes. Joel would throw in a witty remark, Phil would whine in a weird pose, Joel will insult him and throw in a reference, all around some story. It was it’s time to die. Though I’ll miss it, Matt now has more freedom without the burden of people on his back, forcing him to stay up until 4A.M. with coffee just to make another episode to get them to shut up. And then they complain if the episode isn’t as good as the last, boo-hoo. Download Flash yourself and make something better, you prick.

As the title suggests, it is placed in school. Now why am I liking this show if it’s placed in school? It follows a totally different storyline with much more unique characters. The school shows today just basically add something to make it different. “Let’s throw some animals in a school! It’d be so cool! I rymed, I’m so FUNNY!”

TSSSS follows the main character Emiko, as she controls the story anyway she wants to. If they’re something she doesn’t like, she’ll do it her way. She doesn’t follow what the school administrators tell her what to do. It doesn’t mean she’s all “Mean and Bad Rule Breaker!”. It means if she has a test she is going to fail, she’ll say “Screw it!” and go eat a hamburger instead. Her wild and crazy imagination that none of the other students seem to have gets in the way of normalcy. But she still is just a girl after all. She likes ponies and tea parties and GIRLY STUFF! Well, actually, I don’t know if she likes that stuff….because she’s not my character. BUT ANYWAY..

Her best friends are Tischelle and Phara. I don’t really have a lot to say about those crazy dudes, but I will say this is one of the most original series pitches I’ve seen since, I don’t know, Rocko’s Modern Life? They also got crazy cooky backs that are all bendy. FUN! And I especially like their unique names. Why settle for something like “Sarah” or “John”? Why not EMIKO! It looks sorta like ESKIMO!! EXCLAMATIONS!!!

Basically, I’m very excited to see how this series will come out. If it does get on Cartoon Network, hopefully then they’d get some more original shows to finally start to climb themselves out of that slime hole they let themselves get into. Right now, they’re on a tiny thread and hanging on with Lazlo, Foster’s, and Grim. If they were to reject TSSSS, I’ll be ultra super MAD! I’d probably go into my room and cry. Then ask myself, “What would Emiko do?” and go eat a hamburger or fail a test.

New Journal-Ness!

This is a Production Journal/Review Blog.
